The Pistol Range will be closed from Monday April 13 through Thursday April 16.
This is due to the concrete work being done. The fishing pavilion concrete will also be done during this time period. The pistol range will also be closed on Saturday April 18 from 12:30pm until 3pm for the Handgun Training Class.

April 10, 2026 Alabama Ave will be closed for 60 days starting April 6th from Lawmont St to the railroad tracks. Plan your route accordingly. Also, the construction company that was bringing dirt in for range improvements has chosen a different place to take it. There will be no range closures as previously thought. Lake We will be restocking the lake this weekend. Until further notice Bass and Catfish will be catch and release only. The lake pavilion and pistol ranges will be getting new concrete soon. Please be patient during these improvements. More details later. **** Volunteers Needed for the Five Stand & Trap **** We are planning to open practice trap as soon as possible. We would like to open the Five Stand on a regular basis as well. We are thinking of the last Saturday of the month and having a morning shoot with breakfast. As always volunteers are needed to make this happen. We could use people to reload the targets, take money etc. If interested, please contact any Board member or send an email to the Club at [email protected]. New member referral rebate If you are a current member and bring in a new member for 2026, the Club will give you a $50 rebate. There is no limit to the number of new members you can bring in. This applies to 2026 memberships only. Make sure the new candidate states that you referred them at the bottom of your form. We had three new memberships last evening. This will help determine if any restock is needed. Also, the ODNR has added the following to their protected species list: short nose gar, alligator gar, spotted gar. Please return these to the lake if caught. Please do not bring extra cardboard to the ranges. We have a source that will supply us with plenty. North Lawrence Fish and Game Club will be offering an Introduction to Handgun Shooting Class (learn to shoot handguns). Scheduled for Saturday April 18, 2026 at the NLFG’s Club House at 15325 Lawmont St., North Lawrence, OH 44666 from 9:00 AM to approximately 3:00 PM. This class is designed to get you off to the right start for new shooters and/or provide you with a brush-up for those individuals that have not shot for a while. Current ownership of a handgun is not required to take this course! In-fact, delaying your purchase of a handgun until after this class should be of benefit in helping you make the proper purchase decision for your requirements. For those that have their own handgun, we encourage you to bring it to this class, unloaded, in a case or in its original box. All firearms will be inspected on arrival. We will cover safety, selection of a firearm, proper manipulation and maintenance of your firearm, ammunition selection and proper hold and stance with live range time. 22 Target Pistols, 22 ammunition and targets will be provided for this class. Class fee: $ 20.00. Requirements: Your personal handgun if you have one. Proper ammunition for your handgun. Eye protection (glasses if you wear them and or safety glasses). Furnished if needed. Hearing protection (ear plugs or ear muffs). Furnished if needed. No open toed shoes or loose-fitting tops – hot brass can be disconcerting. No live ammunition in the classroom! Keep it in your car until we go to the range. Pre-registration is required as this class is limited to (15) people. We will have instructors to assist each person.
