April 24, 2026 Grounds Improvements: There will be a work party Saturday, May 2. Wear your painting clothes and bring whatever painting supplies you can. Meet at the Lake Pavilion at 9 am. 5 Stand Opening The 5 Stand shoot and breakfast is tomorrow, April 25. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan for the food. See the flyer on our website. A.T.A. Warm-up Shoot May 2, 2026, you can pre-squad at sosclays.com. The O.S.T.A. Northeast Zone shoot to follow on May 16-17. See the flyers on our website. Practice Trap The trap range is open on Tuesday evenings from 5 pm until 7 pm. Cost is $6 for members and youth under 18, $8 for non-members. Bring your own ammo. We still need someone to take charge of this event. We are struggling to keep it running. If no one steps up, we may be forced to cancel. If you are interested and can be there every week, please contact the office at 330-832-2411. Ladies Night at the Pistol Range Starting in June, every Thursday evening from 6pm until 8pm. See the flyer on our website. NLFG at Canal Days We probably have enough sign-ups for Thursday and Friday at Canal Days. We could use some more for Saturday during the 11:00 am-2:00 pm slot and the 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm slot. Any additional help beyond that would be welcome. Dates are July 9, 10, & 11. I will try to put an updated sign-up sheet in the clubhouse in the next few days. North Lawrence Fish & Game Club CMP GSMM Match Memorial Day Weekend North Lawrence Fish & Game Club 15325 Lawmont St. North Lawrence, OH 44666 Entry: Open to all Members, Guests, and Non-Members. Affiliation with the CMP/NRA is NOT Required. Advanced Entries are encouraged, but not required. Range has a capacity of 50 Competitors. NLFG Rifle Range Match will be on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Shooting will start at 9:00am Fee: $20 for Members and $30 for Non-Members - Proof of Membership Required for discounted entry fee. Rules: The CMP Games Rifle Competition Rules will apply. (see: thecmp.org). All other range safety rules will apply. Use of an ECI (Empty Chamber Indicator, supplied at the match) is mandatory. No handling of firearms while pits are open. Use of ear protection is required on the firing, ready, and assembly lines. Equipment: Any “as-issued” M-1 Garand (or Unlimited Garand), Springfield 03 & 03A3, U.S. Model of 1917, U.S. Krag, Foreign Vintage Military Bolt, Or Modern as-issued Military Rifles like AR platform, SCAR, AK platform or similar (or Unlimited Modern) are allowed, Per 2026 CMP Games Rules. All other rifles that do not fit the CMP rules may fire in the match, but will fire“out-of-competition” (not eligible for awards) Ground Mats, Coats, Gloves, Spotting scopes etc. are recommended. Web or leather service rifle slings allowed. Use of the sling is not allowed in Off-Hand Stage, but sling must be attached (parade style) to the rifle. Course of Fire: Competitors will be firing the CMP 35-Shot “Course A” Matches will be fired concurrently. No Alibis or Refires will be given. Rule 3.6.2 (a): General Authorization. Any competitor with a medical or physical impairment may be authorized to complete a CMP-recognized event course of fire while using WSPS SH1 or SH2 or similar adaptive positions and devices. Competitors with General Authorizations may compete for CMP Achievement Awards (Rule 4.8). Match sponsors may permit competitors with General Authorizations to compete for
awards or provide special awards for competitors who use modified positions or adaptive devices. Awards: CMP Award Pins. Gold, Silver, and Bronze award pins to competitors achieving “cut scores” as designated by 2026 CMP Award Scores – Annex A of the Games Rulebook. April 10, 2026 Alabama Ave will be closed for 60 days starting April 6th from Lawmont St to the railroad tracks. Plan your route accordingly. Also, the construction company that was bringing dirt in for range improvements has chosen a different place to take it. There will be no range closures as previously thought. Lake We will be restocking the lake this weekend. Until further notice Bass and Catfish will be catch and release only. The lake pavilion and pistol ranges will be getting new concrete soon. Please be patient during these improvements. More details later. **** Volunteers Needed for the Five Stand & Trap **** We are planning to open practice trap as soon as possible. We would like to open the Five Stand on a regular basis as well. We are thinking of the last Saturday of the month and having a morning shoot with breakfast. As always volunteers are needed to make this happen. We could use people to reload the targets, take money etc. If interested, please contact any Board member or send an email to the Club at [email protected]. Please come early so events can start on time. All events start at 11:00AM. Please wear clothing to suit what weather conditions are or can become. Lake & Ranges Log Book You are reminded that you must log in/out at both ranges and the lake. Please remember to enter your fish catch into the log book. This will help determine if any restock is needed. Also, the ODNR has added the following to their protected species list: short nose gar, alligator gar, spotted gar. Please return these to the lake if caught. Please do not bring extra cardboard to the ranges. We have a source that will supply us with plenty. If you want to bring your own only bring what you will use for the day. Thank you. The Porta-pots are back, located near the pistol and rifle ranges. To help facilitate the changes THE RANGES WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL 12 NOON MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. Exact dates for the start of this project have not been determined. You will be notified as soon as we know. This is expected to begin later this month and continue through July. All language, provisions, policies, procedures, and requirements contained within these governing documents shall be subject to interpretation by the Board of Directors. The Board’s interpretation shall be considered binding upon the membership unless and until modified by formal amendment in accordance with the amendment procedures set forth in the Constitution and/or Bylaws. The Board of Directors shall exercise this interpretive authority in good faith, in a manner consistent with the stated purpose and mission of the Club, and in the best interest of the membership as a whole.
