September 4, 2026 Membership Meeting Thursday, September 10th @7:00pm Raffle tickets will be available. Monday Night 50 Bird Trap Program See the flyer on our website for details. Shooting starts at 6pm. No Shoot September 7th. Come Give CMP Rifle Competition a Try! (Tomorrow) From Art Karas: If you’ve ever wanted to try competitive rifle shooting but weren’t sure how to get started, the North Lawrence Fish & Game Club Labor Day CMP GSM Match is a great opportunity. This is a friendly, traditional marksmanship competition fired at 200 yards using military-style rifles such as the M1 Garand, Springfield, U.S. Model 1917, Krag, military bolt-action rifles, and AR-platform rifles. And don’t worry if your rifle doesn’t fit one of the official CMP categories—you can still participate and shoot out-of-competition. The course of fire is straightforward and fun: 35 rounds total, including sighting shots, slow-fire prone, rapid-fire prone, and standing. It’s challenging enough to test your skills without requiring an overwhelming amount of ammunition or match experience. New shooters are welcome! You do not need to be a member of North Lawrence, the CMP, NRA, or NLFG to participate. Experienced competitors and range staff will be there to help you understand the course of fire and safely get through your first match. At just $20 for members and $30 for non-members, it’s an inexpensive way to experience organized rifle competition, improve your marksmanship, meet other shooters, and put that favorite military or AR-style rifle to use at 200 yards. Saturday, September 5, 2026 • Shooting begins at 9:00 AM North Lawrence Fish & Game Club • North Lawrence, Ohio Bring your rifle, ammunition, eye and ear protection—and come see how much fun CMP competition can be! 5 Stand Shoot & Breakfast Next month’s Shoot will be September 26.
