April 3, 2026 Membership Meeting Thursday, April 9th @7:00pm Bring your questions & comments. Raffle tickets will be available (see below). There will also be a drawing. Don’t forget there are free hot dogs after the meeting! Alabama Ave will be closed for 60 days starting April 6th from Orrville St to Lawmont. Plan your route accordingly. Trap Shoot and Pasta Dinner We had 32 diners and shot about 50 rounds of trap. The weather was a little chili but the food was great! Big thanks to Mark and Danielle! Thanks to Cindy Brenner and Scouts & parents for cleaning up the flower beds and picking up the sticks at the trap range. North Lawrence Fish & Game Club American Sniper Match The next match will be Saturday April 18th, 2026. Open to Members, Guests, and Non-Members. Advanced Entries are encouraged, but not required. Range has a capacity of 50 Competitors. EMAIL [email protected] or TEXT 330-815-0917 for entry. Introduction to Handgun Shooting We will be having a handgun class Saturday April 18th. See the flyer under Club News on the website for details. Steel Challenge The first Steel Challenge Match will be Sunday April 19, 2026 Contact Don Bates for information. email at [email protected] or call 330.309.6903. Ladies Night at the Pistol Range Starting in June, every Thursday evening from 6pm until 8pm Details coming soon. Lake & Ranges Log Book You are reminded that you must log in/out at both ranges and the lake. Please remember to enter your fish catch into the log book. This will help determine if any restock is needed. Also, the ODNR has added the following to their protected species list: short nose gar, alligator gar, spotted gar. Please return these to the lake if caught. Please do not bring extra cardboard to the ranges. We have a source that will supply us with plenty. If you want to bring your own only bring what you will use for the day. Thank you. The Porta-pots are back, located near the pistol and rifle ranges. NLFG at Canal Days The Wooster Outdoor show generated a lot of interest in our Club. We would like to do the same at Canal Days. The Dates are July 9,10,11. Volunteers are needed to be at the booth. If interested and for more info please contact Jim Steiner (330) 575-5132, [email protected]. www.oldecanaldaysfestival.org Rifle and Pistol Range Improvements The rifle and pistol ranges will have significant improvements made over the next few months. To help facilitate the changes THE RANGES WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL 12 NOON MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. Exact dates for the start of this project have not been determined. You will be notified as soon as we know. This is expected to begin later this month and continue through July. Youth Archery/Air Rifle Program The Youth Archery and Air Rifle Program has completed for the season. Thanks to all who helped make this event a success again. All the kids and parents had a great time. Gun Raffle We will have a drawing (DD tickets) at the next membership meeting. Tickets for the next gun raffle are $10.00 The winner will have their choice of either a Kimber .45ACP or S&W.357 magnum handguns, Henry rifle (your choice of available caliber) or cash option of $500. Contact Ron Krysiak (216-316-1748). **** Volunteers Needed for the Five Stand & Trap **** We are planning to open practice trap April 14th. We would like to open the Five Stand on a regular basis as well. As always volunteers are needed to make this happen. We could use people to reload the targets, take money etc. If interested, please contact any Board member or send an email to the Club at [email protected]. Proposed By-Laws Amendment A proposed amendment to our By-Laws will be voted on at the next Membership Meeting April 9, 2026 Please review the following: Article XV – Conflict Resolution In order to ensure consistent governance and orderly operation of the Club, the Board of Directors shall have the sole and final authority to interpret the provisions of the Constitution and By-laws of North Lawrence Fish and Game Club. All language, provisions, policies, procedures, and requirements contained within these governing documents shall be subject to interpretation by the Board of Directors. The Board’s interpretation shall be considered binding upon the membership unless and until modified by formal amendment in accordance with the amendment procedures set forth in the Constitution and/or Bylaws. The Board of Directors shall exercise this interpretive authority in good faith, in a manner consistent with the stated purpose and mission of the Club, and in the best interest of the membership as a whole. This addendum shall become effective immediately upon approval in accordance with the amendment procedures of the Club New member referral rebate If you are a current member and bring in a new member for 2026, the Club will give you a $50 rebate. There is no limit to the number of new members you can bring in. This applies to 2026 memberships only. Make sure the new candidate states that you referred them at the bottom of your form. Retiree Meeting Thursday, May 7th @10:00am Board meeting @ 7:00pm If you know of any members without email, please pass this letter along to them. Better yet, bring them to the Membership meetings! We still have NLFGC logo hats and tumblers available for purchase.
